Houston Business Journal selected The Sinclair Group for its 2005 Small Business 100 List.  This annual list of companies represents the top small businesses in the Houston area, ranked by 2005 gross revenue.  Hank Sinclair accepted our award on behalf of The Sinclair Group team at the luncheon on 19 May.

The Sinclair Group helps firms with operations, M&A activity

     "Fun" is the word that H. L. "Hank" Sinclair uses when he describes working for his company.  Former Dow Chemical executives Sinclair and David King founded The Sinclair Group Ltd. in 1997.  "We are still a start-up in many ways with the challenges we are facing, but it's still fun," Sinclair says.

     The company offers operations consulting and merger and acquisition assistance to industries such as refining, chemicals, fibers and intermediates.  Sinclair Group recently spun off its M&A advisory division called CXO Advisors.

     Sinclair Group offers operational excellence consulting, strategic planning and due diligence services.  Sinclair says a group of consultants will identify and quantify improvement opportunities and financial model, and then "paint a picture" of what's possible.

     "David and I started with an idea of what would create value for clients in those industries," Sinclair adds.  "Then it came down to playing on our strengths."

     Ending 2004 with $12 million in revenue, the company continues to have good luck,  In fact, over the past four years, Sinclair Group's revenue has doubled in size every year, Sinclair says.

     Says Sinclair: "One of the factors that was the engine, so to speak,  behind our growth was the completion of our Rapid Transformation^TM methodology."
